Catastrophic: Program defects that could (or did) cause disastrous consequences for the model. As examples: critical loss of input data; critical miscalculation of strength; critical miscalculation of safety.
Severe: Program defects that could (or did) cause very serious consequences for the model, and no workaround exists. For example, a computational routine is severely broken and cannot be used.
Major: Computational (and/or UI) errors that could (or did) cause significant consequences for the model, but a workaround exists. For example, functionality of a UI feature is badly broken, but a workaround exists.
Minor: Errors that could (or did) cause small or negligible consequences for the model, but a straightforward workaround exists. As examples: UI error messages that are incorrectly issued; engine output messages that are confusing.
No Effect: Trivial errors that cause no negative consequences for the model. Such errors normally produce no erroneous design. As examples: typos in documentation; UI content; engine output messages; misaligned UI layouts.

Fixed an error in the calculation of overburden pressure; this error causes an erroneous calculation of skin friction of drilled shafts if and only if the following soil conditions coexist: (a) both the bottom elevation of an upper layer and the top elevation of the immediate lower layer are defined in soil layering, (b) the soil type of the immediate lower layer is Soil Type No. 3 (clean sand), and (c) the thickness of the clean sand layer is greater than five feet.
